Swimming lessons are part of the Phoenix Swim Club. If you are unsure of the appropriate level for your child we offer free swimming evaluations do determine placement.  Space is limited, so sign up today!

Parent/Tot

The buoyancy of water allows for freedoms and exploration not possible on land.  Parent/Tot is a fun way to enhance your child’s social, emotional and physical development. This class provides an environment for children to interact with their peers as they begin to look forward to seeing their classmates.  It also gives caring parents a chance to meet like-minded people who share the same common interests.

Requirements: Ages 6 months-4 years

Level 1

This introductory course allows inexperienced swimmers to better familiarize themselves in the water in a safe manner.  The objective of the course is to get swimmers comfortable in the water and to learn basic swimming skills to progress to the next levels.

Level 2

This level is designed to help beginner swimmers increase their comfort in the water and reinforce safe water practices.  The objective is to enhance spatial awareness in the water and to introduce the basics for front and back crawl.

Requirements: Ages 4 & up, completed Level 1 or given an exemption by an instructor

Level 3

This class prepares swimmers to learn the fundamentals required to progress through various strokes starting with front and back crawl.  Students will also be introduced to deep water practices such as diving.

Requirements: Ages 4 & up, completed Level 2 or given an exemption by an instructor

Level 4DSCF1083

The focus of this course is to refine the key strokes learned in previous levels so that students swim with more ease, efficiency and power.  Students will also be introduced to breaststroke fundamentals and elementary backstroke, and become confident in deep water.

Requirements: Ages 4 & up, completed Level 3 or given an exemption by an instructor

Level 5

This level is designed to develop confidence in strokes learned in the previous levels and to improve other aquatic skills.  It will introduce Butterfly, flip turns and various water entries.

Requirements: Ages 5 & up, completed Level 4 or given an exemption by an instructor

Level 6

The focus shifts from learning basic stroke fundamentals to stroke refinement and proficiency. Swimmers’ cardiovascular and muscular endurance improve as swimming distances increase.  After completion of this course, swimmers are prepared with the skills vital for success at the competitive level.

Requirements: Ages 5 & up, completed Level 5 or given an exemption by an instructor
