The Phoenix Swim Team will be participating in the Antigua OECS time trials this Sunday, October 4, 2009. This event will determine the team that will represent Antigua at the OECS Championships in November, which will be hosted in Grenada.
The Phoenix Swim Team has been diligently practising in preparation for this event. 14 swimmers will represent PAC at the meet, our largest team to date. Many of our swimmers train up to five times per week, while going to school and participating in other extracurricular activities. They have put in many hours of hard work improving their stokes, dives and turns, and are anxiously awaiting their opportunity to use these skills in an actual race.
The meet will be hosted at the Antigua Athletic Club. All are welcome to come out and cheer on the swimmers. The meet will start at 8:30AM sharp. Admission for the meet is $10EC/adult and $5EC/child under 15 years (free for children under 5 years). Volunteers are needed for meet set up, timing during the event and clean up. If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please email pool@ccset.net.
